Lacrosse Preview: Frostburg State & Alderson Broaddus

The Basics
The West Virginia Wesleyan lacrosse team will play at Ross Field against Frostburg State Wednesday (March 31) at 3 p.m. before traveling to Philippi, W.Va. for a 12 p.m. game Saturday (April 3) versus the Alderson Broaddus.

Scouting Frostburg State
The Bobcats hold a 2-3 record in 2021. Last week, Frostburg defeated Alderson Broaddus (16-3) but lost to Notre Dame (Ohio) (21-15).
 
Stephanie King is the Frostburg State leading scorer. King has accumulated 13 goals and one assist in the early going of the 2021 season. Anna Kearney leads FSU with 15 points (12 goals, three assists).
 
Frostburg State has split time between two goalkeepers in their first five games. Mckenna Shay has started in two games and has made 16 saves while Whitney Crosby has started three games and has made 25 saves. Both goalies have recorded one win this season.
 
Taylor Sindall leads the Frostburg State women's lacrosse program. This is Sindall's second season leading Bobcat lax.
 
Scouting Alderson Broaddus
The Battlers have been winless in their first three games. In their first week of conference play, AB lost games to Frostburg State and University of Charleston.
 
Bailey Fedun leads the AB scoring charge. Fedun has scored 12 goals in three games played. Taylor Young is the netminder for the Battlers. Young has played all 180 minutes in goal with 41 saves made.
 
The head coach of Alderson Broaddus lacrosse is Paxton Boyer. Boyer, an Alderson Broaddus alum, was previously an assistant coach at AB and Davis & Elkins. She also was the head coach at Southern Vermont College for the 2019 season.

Next week WVWC will have two road contests against Charleston (April 8) and Davis & Elkins (April 11). The game at Charleston will begin at 3:30 p.m. while the game at Davis & Elkins will start at 2 p.m.
