Men's Soccer Preview: Alderson Broaddus & Concord

The Bobcats are back on the road this week.

The Basics
The West Virginia Wesleyan men's soccer team prepares to travel to Alderson Broaddus on Wednesday (Oct. 5) for a Mountain East Conference matchup scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. Wesleyan will head south to Concord on Sunday (Oct. 9) for a 4 p.m. kickoff versus the Mountain Lions.

Quick Hits
·        The Bobcats played to a draw against Frostburg State on Wednesday (Sept. 28) and dropped a result at home after a tight match versus Notre Dame (Ohio) on Sunday (Oct. 2).
·        Emre Sinasi Deniz appeared on the score sheet again versus Frostburg State. Deniz's eight goals paces all scorers in the MEC.
·        The Bobcats remain ninth in the Atlantic Regional rankings.

Scouting Alderson Broaddus
The Battlers enter the matchup versus WVWC after a 2-1 victory at West Liberty and 11-0 defeat to Davis & Elkins this past week. Alderson Broaddus currently has an overall record of 2-7-2. Forward Andreas Rossak leads the Battlers with five points, tallying two goals and one assist. Aaron Bassoff has been tabbed as the 10th Head Coach for the Alderson Broaddus men's soccer program.

Scouting Concord
The Mountain Lions start this week after a 3-0 defeat versus Charleston and a 4-1 defeat versus Wheeling. Concord owns an overall record of 2-6-2. Midfielder Joel Walker is currently sitting with three goals to his name and one assist. Luke Duffy continues his first season with the Concord men's soccer program.

Fixture History
In the reverse fixture of Alderson Broddus in Buckhannon, Deniz scored his second goal of the season in the 80th minute. The Battlers were able to find the back of the net just two minutes later and end the match in a 1-1 draw.
 
In the reverse versus Concord, the Bobcats were up at the half 3-0 thanks to a trio of goals from Hunter Dierlam. The Mountain Lions raised their levels and scored three goals, but that was not enough as Deniz scored another goal to seal it for the Bobcats in a 4-3 victory in Buckhannon.
