Women's Basketball Preview: Fairmont State

The Bobcats are prepared for their conference home opener.

The Basics
The West Virginia Wesleyan women's basketball team will host MEC rival Fairmont State on Tuesday (Nov. 22) in the Rockefeller Center at 5:30 p.m.

  • The Bobcats are 0-1 so far in the young season. 
  • Freshman Emma Witt recorded a double-double scoring 19 points and bringing down 10 rebounds versus Frostburg State on Saturday (Nov. 19).
  • Daveona Hatchell also had a double-double on Saturday (Nov. 19) versus Frostburg State with 10 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. 
  • M`laya Ainsworth had eight points and seven rebounds in their season opener.

Scouting Fairmont State
The Falcons have posted a 3-0 record on the year and a 1-0 record in the Mountain East Conference. Alyssa DeAngelo is averaging a team-leading 24.3 points per game. Katy Darnell is averaging a team-leading 8.3 rebounds per game and has added 19.7 points per game. Jertaya Hall (12.3) and Madeline Huffman (11.3) round out the double-digit scoring for the Falcons.
 
Stephanie Anderson is entering her fourth season as the head women`s basketball coach at Fairmont State.

The Bobcats will travel to West Liberty, W.Va. on Wednesday (Nov. 30) to take on West Liberty in a MEC conference game. The game is slated to begin at 5:30 p.m.
