Men's Soccer Preview: Concord & West Liberty

The Bobcats return to Buckhannon for a pair of home matches.

The Basics
The West Virginia Wesleyan men's soccer team hosts two Mountain East Conference matches this week as the Bobcats welcome Concord to Buckhannon on Wednesday (Sept. 14) for a Noon kick off at Cebe Ross Field before playing host to West Liberty on Sunday (Sept. 18).

Quick Hits
·        The Bobcats traveled to Wheeling on Wednesday (Sept. 7) and picked up a point in a 2-2 draw before leaving Charleston with a defeat.
·        Sam Newell scored the equalizer against Wheeling from a Charlie Naylor assist.
·        Emre Sinasi Deniz scored his third goal of the season at Charleston making him second in the MEC top goal scorers list.

Scouting Concord
The Mountain Lions enter the matchup after a 7-1 defeat at Ohio against Notre Dame College. Concord owns an overall record of 1-3-2.

Michael Shelor and Joel Walker both have a pair of goals after six games in the 2022 season.

Luke Duffy is in his first season at the helm of the Concord men's soccer program.

Scouting West Liberty
The Hilltoppers tied Notre Dame (Ohio) 0-0 on Wednesday (Sept. 7) and dropped a result to Alderson Broaddus 1-0 last time out. West Liberty currently sits at 1-2-2 in conference play.

Goalkeeper Noah Underwood currently has a total of 26 saves and has allowed only 5 goals.

Sean Regan is in his fourth season on the Hilltop.
