BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – West Virginia Wesleyan Women's Basketball is set to face Notre Dame College (Ohio) on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. inside the Rockefeller Center. The Falcons beat the Bobcats earlier in the season in South Euclid 75-65 and have won the last twelve matchups against Wesleyan.
NOTRE DAME FALCONS
The Falcons enter (5-15) overall and (4-10) in MEC play. NDC lost at #5 Glenville State 98-59 on Saturday.
Notre Dame has struggled on the offensive end all year, ranking 9
th or worst in the MEC in every offensive statistical category besides 3-Point FG%. From behind the arc, NDC is shooting 29% (7
th MEC). The Falcons also give up 76.6 PPG, which puts them 10
th in the league.
Alana Ellis is the leading offensive threat for Notre Dame and ranks 7
th in the conference in scoring, averaging 16.1 PPG. Noel Weathers averages 10.1 PPG, 6.8 RPG and 1.0 BPG (4
th MEC). Lizzie Imrie is the leading passer, dishing out 2.1 APG.
Imani Gordon is in her second season as the Head Coach of NDC. Gordon's Falcons reached the MEC Tournament semifinals last season. Gordon was previously an assistant for NDC for four seasons before being named HC. In her four seasons as an assistant, the Falcons were (78-32) overall and (60-22) in MEC play. Prior to joining the NDC staff, she served as a Graduate Assistant at Cleveland State. Gordon played collegiate basketball at Cleveland State as well.
WEST VIRGINIA WESLEYAN BOBCATS
The Bobcats enter (3-14) overall and (2-12) in MEC play. Wesleyan is coming off a 77-35 loss to West Liberty at home on Saturday.
Wesleyan has been active on the offensive boards, pulling down 13.0 Offensive Rebounds per game, which ranks them 5
th in the league. The Bobcats are only allowing 68.2 PPG (4
th MEC).
Emma is averaging 14.8 PPG, still sitting at 13
th in the MEC in scoring.
Daveona Hatchell continues to rank in the Top-15 in rebounding, pulling down 6.2 RPG.
Courtney Wilfong enters the new week ranking 8
th in assists (3.4 APG).
