Box Score CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The West Virginia Wesleyan Women's Lacrosse team lost to the University of Charleston on the road this evening 17-3. On the night, UC had 29 shots on goal compared to Wesleyan's four shots on goal.
The Bobcats got on the board first and early as
Raveena Navalgund found
Kaitlyn Canby in the middle and Canby converted. The Golden Eagles answered heavily, scoring eight-straight goals to take an 8-1 lead after one quarter of play.
In the 2
nd, Charleston scored two more goals until
Raveena Navalgund scored a goal with
Reese Hutson getting the assist to make it 10-2. Just a couple minutes later, Navalgund found the back of the net again. UC was able to add two goals before the half ended, leading 12-3 at the break.
Charleston displayed sturdy defense for the remainder of the game, not allowing a single shot and forcing seven turnovers in the 3
rd and five in the 4
th. The Golden Eagles added two goals in both the 3
rd and 4
th Quarter, leaving with a 17-3 win over WVWC.
Madison Partridge led Charleston with four goals while Destiny Jackson and Antonia Martinez added three goals each. Gianni Blundell had five assists as well.
Raveena Navalgund had two goals for the Bobcats to lead the team and
Kaitlyn Canby had one goal.
Gabriella Gomez recorded 12 saves.
