Witt Snags Second Consecutive MEC co-Player of the Week

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. - The Mountain East Conference announced Monday the winners of this week's Men's and Women's Basketball Player of the Week awards. The MEC Player of the Week awards are presented by The Health Plan.

West Virginia Wesleyan's Emma Witt and West Liberty's Jameka Brungard share the MEC Women's Basketball Player of the Week award.
 
Witt, a senior forward from Staunton, Virginia, posted a double-double in the Bobcats win over 72-67 win over Wheeling. She scored 20 points going 6-for-13 from the floor and 8-of-10 from the free throw line. Witt also grabbed a game-high 16 rebounds while dishing out two assists.
 
Brungard, a freshman forward from New Middletown, Ohio, posted a double-double in the Hilltoppers 84-80 win over Davis & Elkins. She scored 22 points going 7-for-16 from the floor and 8-of-10 at the free throw line. She also grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds to go along with two steals.
